Scan ID

The company Scan ID helps its clients with loyalty programs and voucher treatment. They treat for instance the meal and promotion vouchers of Delhaize and Carrefour.

SofKOA has already finalized different projects for Scan ID.

Some examples:

  • Scanning of meal and journal vouchers with automatic recognition and image based data entry by operators.
  • Idem for survey forms.
  • Fully automatic FTP transfer to the partners.
  • Access control at discotheques based on the automatic recognition of scanned ID cards and passports.
  • Automation of the conversion of MS Office files.

The Flemish Government

Aiming at reducing the CO2 emission, the Flemish Government (the Flemish Energy Agency) wants to improve the awareness of the energy consumption of the (Flemish) companies.

In this context SofKOA developed an interactive web application with which companies can do energy audits themselves.

The Swiss Company Re Recognition

An important aspect of document management systems is the automatic recognition of barcodes, OMR cases (used in e.g. multiple choice questions) and text. The recognition rates of barcodes, OMR cases and machine-written text are unbelievable high, but the recognition of hand-written text is still one of the most difficult areas in computer science. One of the few companies that have developed an excellent recognition engine for hand-written text, is the Swiss company Re Recognition GmbH. We already made use of its engine several times. Vice versa we have advised them on the integration of their engine in a C# layer (C# (pronunciation: “C sharp”) is a modern high level language).

AACO

With one of our customers, we have quite a strange relationship: the more invoices we send to him, the more we have to pay him; that's precisely the other way round as it should be!

Of course this customer, AACO, is our bookkeeper/accountant. We have implemented his back-up procedures. So he as well as all his customers can feel confident about the durability of his electronic data and bookkeeping.
